Mike: I am a follower of Christ. One of the ways I do this is by serving as a pastor in The United Methodist Church. Before I became a UM, there were times when I was both Baptist and Presbyterian. I preached my first sermon in a Pentecostal church, served on the staff of a Roman Catholic church, studied at Methodist, Presbyterian, and Eastern Orthodox seminaries, hang a Moravian star in my home every Christmas, and I once bought a cake at a Lutheran bake sale. So my bases are pretty-well covered. I hope. I am the husband of an amazingly beautiful wife and the father of an amazingly beautiful little girl and an amazingly big yellow dog. I’m the product of a small, Upstate South Carolina mill town where many of my memories were made, most of my family still lives and all my oldest friends are from. I am a former radio announcer and have worked at country, urban contemporary and easy listening stations. That means that if you need to know the lyrics of a song by George Strait, Barry White or Frank Sinatra, I’m your man. Oh, and I once had a hole-in-one when my ball landed in the bunker, hit a rake, bounced onto the green and rolled into the hole! God is good!
